Stox Socks Honest Review

This is our review of Stox compression socks.
stox socks review

I have been using Stox running compression socks for over a month so I decided to a Stox review.

I have a herniated disc that is causing nerve pain down one leg. These socks helped me manage the pain, and I’m now able to run over 10km without difficulty. I was also concerned about numb feet, but I had none.

I also suffer from debilitating foot cramps.

I found Stox’s running socks to be quite good. I now have no recurring foot cramps.

You can buy Stox Socks from official website here:

In this comprehensive review of Stox socks we will review the features, best alternatives, and some issues with Stox as a brand and as socks:

Let’s get started!

What does the Stox socks do?

The primary goal of these socks are to stimulate the blood circulation in your legs.

Stox socks uses graduated compression, delivering an enhanced oxygen blood flow in your legs keeping you going harder, for longer, and recovering faster.

The circulation further helps particularly athletes to enhance performance, to reduce swelling, cramping and fatigue.

Are these socks any good though?

I have personally found them to be quite effective.

  • They are easy to put on. The moisture wicking material feels very soft and are very breathable. I also do not have to worry about shoes that fit good in morning and then are painfully tight later in the day.
  • I not only wear them while running 10 Km everyday, but also at work. Ofcourse I change them lol when I got work. My legs dont get tired and I recover much faster.

But what does the science have to say about it?

  • One study found that participants who wore commercially available compression socks like Stox 93% of runners experienced muscle soreness after a run of 10 kilometres with traditional running socks, while only 14% experienced the same who wore compression socks.
  • Another study found that people who have a standing profession for eg. 84% nurses experienced less pain in legs when they wore compression socks

Technology used in Stox socks

Stox define their compression type as graduated compression.

But what does that even mean?

This means that the compression is tightest around the ankle area and gets loose as you go up the leg. This helps imroves blood and oxygen circulation level up and out of the legs.

As the blood keeps moving, the chances of forming a clot are reduced.

Also correct levels of pressure which is measure in “mmHG” is very important. Stox have various socks and have also defined the pressure levels needed depending on your activity.

What materials are used to make Stox socks?

All of the Stox socks are generally made from these materials:

  • Milk Fiber – very smooth, absorbs moisture quickly, which is far better than synthetic fibers
  • Merino wool – 3 times more softer than natural silk, this wool is very elastic which helps you move your body freely. Interestingly this wool has in built climate control. In the sense that when there the sun is blazing scorching hot, this wool keeps you cool. And when its freezing outside and you sense that white walkers are about to burst in, it keeps you warm.
  • Moisture wicking materials – there are various types of them but essentially they are more breathable and softer than natural fabrics

Types of Stox socks

These are the types of socks currently available on Stox. I went for the Sports one.

  • STOX Sports Socks – Basically for all those who play sports, and also folks if you are into hiking, skiing then also these are for you. Helps you keep your legs cool and tire and cramp free.
  • STOX Daily Socks – For keyboard warriors, those who have desk jobs. Helps to prevent varicose veins & restless legs.
  • STOX Travel Socks – The biggest challenge of traveling is continuously changing weather. If you are a wanderluster or bluntly saying a hippie, or regardless. Then these socks help you maintain the correct temperature.
  • STOX Recovery Socks – You saw that kohl eyed girl in the gym and to impress her you got carried away and ran 2 times faster on the treadmill than you do otherwise and now you have muscle pain, cramps, and as a free bonus a leg injury? Then these are for you. Oh and also for those who have shin splints, calf, and Achilles tendon problems.

Stox Reviews and Complaints

What you will most attractive is that Stox socks has over 4.6/5 – 12500+ reviews on Trustpilot.

However some complaints which I noticed are:

  • In general the prices of these compression socks are almost two times the price of those that are available on Amazon of similar quality.
  • While returning the product back, some customers complained that not only they had to pay the postage charges for returning it, but also the amount of time taken for getting the refund was 3 to 4 weeks.

Alternatives

If Stox socks are’nt the ideal choice for you, there are similar alternatives you can consider.

CHARMKING Compression Socks for Women & Men

This one is an excellent choice for those on budget. These are available for both men and women.

This one has over 40k+ reviews on Amazon. I like the fact that we can choose from various colors and design patterns.

However from what I see only 3 sizes are available. If you need XL and above see the below one.

Mojo Medical Compression Socks

This one is an excellent choice for those who have large calves and ankles

They have made every size availablle. From small going up to 7x large.

They are also softer and are designed to stretch more.

Even though these are a plus size they are still quite tight.

Final Verdict

So I would highly recommend Stox Socks if you suffer from restless legs, swollen ankles, sleep apnea, tired legs, Shin Splints, for those who have standing jobs like nurses etc.

Also for athletes and runners like me these compression sokcs can be a huge support in maintaining our stability while we run and also takes care of our foot and leg health.

What I also like about those socks are that they come with 30 Day Money Back Guarantee and they have multiple colors as well patterns available.
